Biography

Passed high school 1968, went to RU and 1980 gain Maths degree with correspondence course. -In 1974 U Thant Uprising, chairman of students central committee and sentenced to 7 years. Released in 1979. In 1988 NLD organizer of Rangoon. Contested 1990 election in No.1 Constituency and won. Wrote papers on G-7, talk between SLORC and NLD and the survival of NLD…Detained in 1998 and released after the parliament was not called. It was called in 1999 again. When expressed desire to attend, 10 MPs were arrested at Yemon 213 for 9-10 months. Although detained, on tried to make them not able to keep contact with party(NLD). Gave other opportunities, full freedom (TV, tennis, chinlon, draught, video hire). Allowed to go home once a week….…declared that has nothing to do with NLD and sent letter to the commission…and declared as independent candidate. Attended national assembly 1993-1996 as NLD MP but after 2004-2007 attended as independent… -Business activities; chemist, transporting eggs to teashops, dealing in potato and onion. Collect money from restaurants…daughter has a charcoal sale centre and call phone centre. Wife has pension, retired teacher. Both daughter and son graduates
